Yarn: 100% wool, worsted weight : 80 yards of green for the stem and leaf, 50 yards of orange for the petals, brown for the tips of stamen
Needles: Size 10 double point needles, a spare pair of long straight needles (size 10 or smaller), a stitch holder and a yarn needle.
Additional Materials: For the stem and leaf, you’ll need two 18 gauge, 18” florist wires and about 4 feet of ¼” synthetic ribbon to thread through the leaf and flower stems prior to felting. This ensures the stems won’t fuse to themselves as they shrink. You’ll also need 4-6 3.5” lengths of a green cloth covered florist’s wire for the stamen.
Finished Sizes: In two sizes, large and small. The finished flowers are 15 – 18” long.
Level: Advanced beginner
